Fieldfares

Went for a walk up Ffordd Bedd Morris from Newport today (never been there before). Splendid views and it was surprisingly birdy. As we came out on to the open areas there were good numbers of Stonechats, plenty of Meadow Pipits, a few Sisikins and a flock of about 20 Fieldfares. There was a continous passage of chirruping Skylarks in small groups, flying low, heading, strangely, towards the east.
