I saw a Great White Egret at the Iron Bridge at Newport yesterday but didn't get a very good picture.
This afternoon (Friday) I had walked across Carningli Common and was joining the road down to the A487 just west of Newport when we accidentally flushed a Barn Owl which flew off. Shortly afterwards as we approached Newport we saw this Crossbill in a tree, which came down to drink from a puddle. My first Crossbill so very pleased! The Crossbill was in a tree next to the bridlepath sign by a house called Treffynnon.
