St David's Head - mid morning to mid afternoon

We spent a few hours surveying seabirds from the Head. A cold day but glorious sunshine. Generally fairly quiet but passing auk flocks were quite regular in the morning and also a trickle of gulls, including Black-headed, Common and a single adult Med Gull. There were small numbers of Red-throated Divers (mostly heading west or towards Ramsey Sound) but one heading north - totalling around 12 during the period. Common Scoter passage included flocks of 35 and 45 - in all c.120 during our watch.

A belated entry but on Christmas day we noted that the Long-tailed Duck was still present at Bosherston lake and also at least 19 Goosanders. Chiffchaffs also noted calling along the lower eastern arm.
