Lows and Highs of raptor watching

On our way to lunch at the Propellers Café this afternoon we were unfortunate to witness the demise of a male sparrowhawk which was hit by the car in front of us at it swooped across the road opposite Haverfordwest Airport. We quickly turned the car around to retrieve the body which was smack in the middle of the road and placed it under a roadside bush, out of sight, to preserve its dignity.

Having completely lost our appetites we browsed around Homebase instead in an attempt to take our mind off this sad event and on our exit from there a flyover Hobby, drifting on the wind raised our spirits somewhat.
