Castlemartin Corse WEBS

WEBS this morning with Rob and Christine Lewis and Mike Robinson. Hardly any standing water, and as has been the story for much of this winter no ducks at all.

Snipe numbers holding up at around 390, the fen meadow lifting with them and parties flying about the reedbed. 70 golden plover, 33 curlew and 1100 lapwing, with a lot feeding on the Kilpaison Burrows side. Upstream from the pine trees, 23 greylags feeding on the wet meadows. Two grey herons, a female merlin hunting...and good views of the female marsh harrier. Cetti's warbler heard briefly, twice.
