The Gann

The Gann, last light. Handful of small waders (10 Ringed plover, 2 Dunlin), 3 Little egret roosting in the sycamores, dozens of juv Pied Wagtails going to roost in reeds by Crabhall. 100s of corvids (Jackdaws and juv Rooks) on shore and a good number of gulls to look through included 55 Mediterranean gulls (42 adults, 10 1cy, 3 2cy). Met Derek and we spoke about the chance of a Yank gull being out there especially with these fronts moving in from the Atlantic. Earlier duck numbers building, in the region of a hundred mixed Mallard and Teal at Marloes Mere but not a lot else.
Caught up with the Spotted Redshank (at last) at Pembroke, lunchtime today (my first for ages). It was feeding on small crabs and fry barely 15-20m away. Nice to see Mike Davey, John Stephens and Lyndon 'My lens is too long' Lomax enjoying the wader-fest.
