Martin’s Haven: Willow Warblers, and first Swallow

A nice fall of Willow Warblers mid-morning today: several dozen along the whole length of the valley down to the beach. Some in sub-song, but generally pretty quiet. Also a couple of Chiffchaffs, one of which was ringed: from Skokholm, or Mullock?

We also saw our first Peregrine for several months: they have been surprisingly scarce here.

This evening, as c.1730, a single Swallow flew fast across the Trehill fields and over the Deer Park towards the North West.

And another Adder basking in the garden.
