Just got back from a couple of days on Caldey which was VERY quiet - a complete contrast to 2007 when there were many thrushes, goldcrests and firecrests around. Best was a flock of 50 Curlew!!!!
Deer Park was quiet today in the wind but a steady light movement of Chaffinches and a single Brambling heard. At the Mere the immature Marsh harrier is still around and making Snipe quite jumpy - all the ducks were hiding in the vegetation.
On Monday 27th the Cattle Egret was with the cattle in the field just above Sandy Haven church
