Well, the second winter phase of the Atlas has now just ended so please try and get your last TTVs or Roving records in as soon as you can. We are now going through the huge task of checking and validating some 43,540 records entered so far by some 141 observers - quite a long slog!
If you get an automated email concerning any records we are querying please be patient with us as it is quite an onerous task! So far we have found very few errors (mostly location names not inside the tetrad - though we realise that this is not an easy thing to get off the Google map).
We have only checked 10% of the records, so there is still a long way to go. It will probably take most of our all too precious spare time in March to go through the remainder.
Coverage has been excellent. Thanks to everyone who has contributed records so far. We hope to produce a summary update for the Bird Report.
Spring is not far away, so please be ready to carry on the good work with TTVs etc from April onwards.
