Iceland Gull at Stackpole

Now back on line more regularly I hope - having moved back home.

A very fine adult Iceland Gull coasting around Stackpole Head this evening from the east, heading towards Broadhaven where other gulls were gathering on the beach. Seen very well at close range by four observers - a new site record.

Remains of a woodcock on Stackpole Head (fox-kill) and a very close in-shore Harbour Porpoise feeding litterally below the cliffs on east side of the head.

Firecrests (x2) calling in Holm oaks near the lakes eastern arm (where there are still 19 goosanders and 15 gadwall present). No obvious signs of sand martins yet.

A verbal report today from Kiri Howells (very well described) of an adult summer plumage Mediterranean Gull at Hobbs Point yesterday lunch time.

A chiffchaff also flew across the road near Sandy Haven yesterday.

Last Sunday fine quite large (suspect ad female) hen harrier hunting over Linney Head and a merlin hunting near Brownslade.
