News from Tommy Evans - I note that yesterday the cattle egret in Newport went missing. It was certainly about today - at least for part of the time. I was at the bridge 10.15 to 10.30 and saw it perched on a tree on the right - looking upstream from the bridge. When I came back about 11.30 it was downstream of the bridge amongst the gulls, but then took off to land on a field being ploughed - again in the middle of a flock of gulls.
