Apologies if the picture shocks, I did think long and hard before posting it. I came across this sorry looking Black-tailed Godwit during my WeBS count at Hook this morning. It could fly, though was obviously weakening. Presumably a fox or similar had got hold of it but it somehow escaped. I can't imagine it surviving long (it looked even worse from the right side).
WeBS totals included 38 Black-wits, 2 Knot, 2 Lapwing, 3 Greenshank, 2 Redshank, 26 Dunlin (no sign of any Little Stints).
