Around Bosherston lakes this afternoon

Not too much of note, but the drake goosander that arrived over a week ago is still in the eastern arm; 7 goldeneye are in the western arm as usual. This just may possibly be a regular returning pair with this years young. I have noted a single male with females/immatures in exactly the same location over the last 2-3 seasons, arriving at about this time. The 10 gadwall may also be 5 pairs.

Along the wooded shoreline today a single blackcap, at least 6 chiffchaffs and 2 firecrests - all calling well and fairly obvious.
