A Firecrest by the 5 Bar Gate with the stile was the highlight of an interesting walk around the Moor. There seemed to be good numbers of small birds today including Bullfinches , Goldcrests ( at least 2 ) a female Blackcap & a Chiffchaff. There are quite a few Water Rail calling now as well.
At the Flagpoles a Barwit & a Single Canada Goose with the Oycs , Redshanks & Turnstones. At the Stena Ferry Terminal end a small group of roosting Redshanks & an Adult Great Northern Diver fishing quite close in.Also another Goldcrest in the fir trees on the Harbour side of the road opposite Tesco.
