Landshipping
Took a stroll along the shore between Landshiping slipway and the quay and quite a good variety of species were present. Most notable (at least to me) was a flock of 135 pintail on the sprinkle side - never seen anywhere near this number before in pembs. Also a Jack Snipe and 20 + snipe flushed from shore near the slipway, thousands of Lapwing but only 150 Golden Plover. Two Peregrines soared high over Sprinkle causing all the ducks to shuffle nervously into the water and a redhead merganser fished in the channel. There were loads of song thrush, redwings and blackbirds in the fields behind but otherwise passerines were in short supply. Happy new year, Paddy
