This past week single Herons have been seen perched on the ridges of houses in the estate on which I live. Some of the gardens adjoining these houses have garden ponds which are presumably the attraction.The local Jackdaws are not at all keen on the Heron presence but although they have gathered round have been too wary to approach close enough to be in range of the lethal bill. Has anyone noticed similar Heron behaviour elsewhere in the county?
