18:31 this evening;-
The Bittern flew over. at c30' height, gliding slowly across the reed-bed in front of Kingfisher Hide, landing to the left, a different destination from other evening sightings.
The Bittern came in from the direction of Otter Hide(the mud one), where it is presumably feeding amongst sedges & grasses.... there are no reeds there.
We watched from the railway line, behind Kingfisher hide, so we had excellent views of where it came from. The last evening sighting was from this direction..... so maybe why no recent day time sightings from Kingfisher Hide?
