We now know we have had at least 7 different Gt-sp woodies in the garden visiting the nuts. Three different males, 3 different juvs, & one female. The female rarely appears but the others come daily & their chasing antics around the garden have to be seen to be believed!
"My" coal tits are back; they dissapeared for the summer. The ringed one has not yet been seen; as I assume he was one of mine he was certainly over 5 years old so I guess a good age for such a small bird!
The willow tits dissapeared when I stopped feeding sunflower seeds; will they re-appear when I start them again once we really get winter!
Also on Aug 1st we had whitethroat, blackcap (juv m), garden warbler, chiff-chaff, willow warbler, & a "family" of bullfinches, as well as usual blue & Gt-tits. Did they all know the summer Atlas period had just ended!
