Looking out of the window,

Pre dawn lightened and as it did the sky angered a little and then cooled with multiple cloud layers. Having awoken to this minor miracle I clumbsily grasped my binoculars and then as I cleared the focus I saw hundreds of winter thrushes raining down from way above.
Later a Red Kite being harrassed by corvids in the distance made me wonder if now, such a sighting is notable, where once it really was. I hope I never lose the thrill of seeing a kite!
