It was good to meet Derek at the Mere early this afternoon. As well as a Chiffchaff that was feeding and calling actively by the Britton Hide and 1-2 Snipe calling, highlights were around 15 Sand Martins feeding actively over the mere. On and above the Trehill Farm fields were a very mobile and nervous flock of 31 Golden Plover.
Earlier on the Gann pools just after Low Tide, 2 Snipe, 20+ Teal, a pair each of Wigeon, Shelduck and Mute Swans and 2 female Goldeneye
