Stunning views at 10:00 am today - it was sitting low in a sallow out of the wind and near the fence. It hardly moved from its favourite twig during the 10 minutes that we watched it, and in that time caught and ate about 5 large flies simply by opening its beak and snapping at them as they flew by! It eventually hopped back into the bushes. When we came by half an hour later it was back on the twig.
It looked very fluffed up - it was not cold so perhaps it is not very healthy??
