Hobby and more from the Teifi

Sunday am:-
A visit to Poppit produced a Hobby heading South. As it disappeared from view a peregrine appeared to be following at an angle on an intercept course. The Hobby had come over the lifeboat station so possibly it had come across the estuary. On the Patch side of the estuary were 3 redshank, 12 knot, 9 sanderling a barwit and small numbers of dunlin and ringed plover. The bushes held a few whitethroat, blackcap, chiffchaff, stonechat and a single lesser whitethroat.

Sat am:-
An hour seawatch and trip around Cemaes Head was very quiet apart from a pod of around 8 Bottlenose Dolphins just off shore for around half an hour. 5 Kept very close together with at least a couple of others dotted around the main group. A small number of porpoise were also dotted further out. One of the dolphins had a distinctive bi-coloured dorsal fin with the top edge a paler grey and seemingly eroded away/damaged. The only birds seen moving SW were a single common scoter and a juv med.
