At Kilpaison mid morning 16 light Bellied Brents. Quite a few waders (Dunlin & Knot pictured) but they were flying about or stayed off on the far side of the bay so I couldn't get a handle on numbers.
In the dunes at the back of Freshwater West the smart male Hen Harrier was quite close to the road and was mobbed by a Merlin as it hunted. The Merlin then switched its attention to a passing Buzzard before seeing off a Crow. A feisty individual!
At Bosherston late morning I failed to find the Bitterns below Stackpole Court although I met Lyndon there who had had some brief glimpses of one keeping low in the reeds. I did see 4 Goosander, 2 Goldeneye and 2 Kingfishers by way of compensation.
