A walk at St. Bride's with my daughter and our dogs was livened up with this stunning male Black Redstart on the church roof. I don't think I've ever had such good views of a male before - it really was a star performer, I even had to move back with the scope to fit it in the viewfinder of the camera! The trick was trying to get it centred and focussed before it darted off after another fly. left as Richard Crossen was arriving so decided to get in quick with blogging my photos before he gets his up!
