Cuckoos and redstarts

Near Mynachlogddu today, despite the cold blast, a pair of cuckoos surveying meadow pipit nests. The male giving an escort and catching the odd whopping great hairy caterpillar (no, he didn`t share) and the female dropping into the tussocks when the male had decoyed the crowd of annoyed mipits away.  2 stonechat males on Rhos Fach, despite the gorse having been torched .  Redstarts singing in the trees so it must be Spring !
