A really good morning's birding - lots of thrushes dropping in & quickly heading off towards the mainland first thing - 120 Song Thrushes, 75 Redwings, 45 Blackbirds, 3 Fieldfares (first of the autumn) & a Ring Ouzel.
Lots of finches going over - 250 Chaffinches, 3 Bramblings, 35 Greenfinches & a Crossbill
& round the valleys there was 3 Blackcaps, 6 Chiffchaffs, 7 Goldcrests, 7 Long-tailed Tits & a female Bullfinch.
A Red Kite came over & caught a Slow-worm & ate it in flight & a Whimbrel was on Rye Rocks
