Aythya Ducks

It's been an interesting couple of days regarding Aythya ducks, I spent some time with Steve Berry watching (actually mostly looking for) an extremely skulking First winter male Scaup near Jordanstown then followed with interest the comments on the Bosherston bird. It seems like there's always something to learn with these ducks. I'd  also like to add a caution about judging these things from a few photographs. To make my point I've added a photo I took yesterday at Heathfield GP.

And no it's not one! It's an adult female Tufted Duck which made me talk to friends and think very hard for a spell.
