Purple Sandpiper,Long-tailed Duck and more Velvet Scoters

A lone Purple Sandpiper picked its way over wrack covered rocks on St Margaret's Island Tenby at high tide.At Amroth c.40 Red-throated Divers,20 Great Crested Grebes,a pair of Red-breasted Mergansers and at least 500 Scoter were offshore.Finally Wiseman's Bridge which proved to be the best site of the day with a cracking female Long-tailed Duck,4 Scaup,3 female Velvet Scoters associating with a flock of 25 Scoter,5 Mediterranean Gulls(4 adults and a 2nd w)and 5 adult Kittiwakes were part of a large gull roost at dusk.
