The Ring-necked Duck, in company with Tufties, was still on the northern irrigation reservoir this afternoon. The Glossy Ibis strutted along the grass strip in front of the reservoir before flying off. An adult male Hen Harrier flew through, pausing briefly by the Mere before crossing low over the fields "diving" over the hedgebanks in the manner of a Sparrowhawk.
The Harrier flushed the Tufty group which settled on the main Mere and at least 40 Shoveler appeared on the open water.
