Surf Scoter, Slavonian Grebe.....

Sorry, but the interweb in Rath was out, so we were rather limited in reporting..!
Plumstone Mountain, 13/1 1545-1630, watching Starling roost: 1 male, 1-2 ringtail Hen Harriers

Fishguard Harbour, 14/1, 1100, Slavonian Grebe outside the southern/eastern breakwater
Wolf’s Castle, Dipper active upstream from A40
Ty-rhyg, 1200-1330, Jack Snipe flushed from “Pond” at c.054297
Fagwr Goch c.053308, male Hen Harrier quartering the valley/rough ground running up the hillside
Wiseman’s Bridge 1445-1520, 1st winter male Surf Scoter among Common Scoter – the practice in ID gained earlier in the day at Broad Haven VERY useful! The sea at Amroth was glassy flat, the sunlight superb.
For me, the four “lifers” – Surf Scoter, Long-billed Dowitcher, Glossy Ibis, and Ring-necked Duck – were an excellent result for an incredibly short visit from The Smoke!
