The Gann and Marloes

Thought it was time I caught up with the Long-billed Dowitcher. Arriving at The Gann around 11:30 this morning there were 6 or so Redshank and a couple of Snipe in it's favoured location but no sign of the Dowitcher. A passing gull then put the Redshank up and the Dowitcher appeared and joined them flying off to the nearest island. I ticked it off but rather distant.
I went onto Marloes Mere where a spell in the hide produced several flight views of the Glossy Ibis. It kept returning to the same spot, hidden in long grass over by the hide on the North side of the Mere. No sign of the Pinkfeet but Mervyn Jones joined me and, from the carpark, put me onto the Ringed Neck Duck which was in the noth irrigation reservoir section in company with some Tufteds. A fine male Hen Harrier flew along a hedge line some way off towards Skomer.
Back to the Gann and the Dowitcher was close in below the driveway and put on a great display. Click on the pic for a few more photos.
