Time to catch up with some ducks was the plan;-
Black-throated and Red-throated Divers off Fishguard Fort, where also small groups of Razorbills and Guillemots...and a couple of small (6 bird) groups of Shag.
Purple Sandpiper off Broad Haven was nice with the Surf Scoter, this sandpiper is becoming tricky at Fishguard !
Ring-necked Duck and the Pink-feet were great at Marloes Mere with good supporting duck species and a collybita Chiffchaff in the car-park hedge
Nice to see Greenshank, Red-breasted Merganser, Dark-bellied Brent Goose and Great Crested Grebe at the Gann - currently all tricky species to find on the north coast, and the Long-b. Dowitcher.
A loose group of 4 Stonechat and Kestrel at Trefeiddan was nice. 2 Stonechats too at the Dowrog, and by 1615 we had seen 1/2 adult male Hen Harriers and 1/2 ringtails....I guess a roost count from later birders.
Dave from Trefin who we met at the Dowrog had a male Hen Harrier fly past his kitchen window this morning.
(Rich D and Karen,...and a nice 86 species day.)
