Purple Sandpipers - Broad Haven (and that heron)

A walk on the beach late afternoon was very rewarding, not only for the sunshine (at last) but a nice little flock (6) of Purple Sandpipers roosting on the rocks at the north end at low tide - allowing a close approach, although the best angle was slightly hampered by the fear of being cut off by the tide!

Like Richard Brown, I too am intrigued by Richard Ellis' description of the egret at Bosherston this afternoon.  The leg colour alone sends alarm bells ringing, LBH should show dusky tips to the outer primaries but that could easily be missed on a roosting bird.  Sounds like something to check out in the morning....
