The Black-tailed Godwits were again at Carew River late afternoon though flying past towards Lawrenny as I arrived.
Yesterday it was easy to count the birds as they were feeding in two groups on the mud. Today, with a fairly brief fly past it was much more difficult. What would your estimate be from a quick look at the flock? Click on the photo for a larger version
Having blown the photo up and looked in detail I reckon there are 69 Godwits though it is hard to be precise with some birds hidden behind others.
