Again, we are here to "bird our patch" AND protect our caravan from freezing up!
From the window, late Sunday afternoon, we listed 2 Black-throated Divers rafting with 6 Red-throated cousins, plus our first fly-by Sand Martin for the year. What happens to these martins when they reach the snowline....?
On the campsite this morning:- 12 Wheatears in the horse paddocks along with 2 Redwings, and below us at Point St John another Black-throated Diver with 2 Red-throated Divers around the corner in Whitesands Bay.
We have mentioned on many occasions during the 8 years we have been coming to Pencarnan, the delight of having, outside our window, the first bush to be found this side of the Irish Republic. We assume that Greg and Lisa are too exposed on Ramsey to have anything exotic as a bush! To date we have listed 46 species alighting upon this bush. While standing at the window this morning, with a bowl of cereals in hand - who would sit for breakfast with an attraction like this? - we recorded this year's first summer visitor.
