A distinctly winter feel to the Airfield this morning. Lots of Starlings still about, and a good few Fieldfares in amongst them. The plaintive call of a Golden Plover drew attention to a flock of about 150+ feeding in between the cow pats, many of them now in summer dress.
A Ringtail Harrier was being harassed by the pair of Kestrels who appear to have taken up residence on the Airfield. I believe it's very likely that the last Kestrel nest site on the aerodrome was in one of the old hangars, which were taken down in the sixties.
