News for the Gann from Wednesday 20 March from Jeremy Moore -
An apparent “pair” of black-tailed godwits @ 6pm. The dowitcher was still there; it was keeping company with a redshank. My field guide describes the species as a large and robust wader, but in fact the bird is actually slightly smaller and more slender than the redshank.
The attached photo, while otherwise being quite useless, shows this to be the case!
There was a male pintail at Marloes Mere Wednesday morning and at least four pairs of shoveler.
