Corncrake, Subalpine Warbler & Woodchat Shrike

The St. David's area continues it's near monopoly on rare birds this spring.  A CORNCRAKE seen this morning by Mike Y-P at Whitesands.  From the old Whitesands Bay hotel, take the old cabin track down towards Whitesands, viewed from metal drain in path, looking towards house on horizon, bird was along fence line 100m away.  Seen but not heard - this may be a very difficult bird to catch up with.  Also the Western Subalpine Warbler still at St. David's Head, 100m along coast path from Porth Melgan beach, and the Woodchat Shrike still in Porth Melgan valley, 100m up from the beach at the cross-track but mobile.
