The very strong wind had put a stop to hirrundine movement, only 3 Swallows and a Sand Martin seen but 2 Sandwich Terns alternated between fishing and resting and a Manx Shearwater was seen well inside the bay. A group of 7 Turnstones picked over the shore on the dropping tide and 11 Whimbrels accompanied by a Ruff paused briefly before going inland. Thought they might have stopped off on the sports field but apparently not when I checked.
