mainly Marloes area

Still a Snipe in our garden, but 2 Wheatear on the Deer Park wall to persuade us that it really is Spring.

The number of Redshank I counted at the Gann more than doubled (to 20+) when the Marsh Harrier flew over at 1140 and spooked everything. There were at least 30 Teal, 5 Shelduck and 4 Dabchick.

Mervyn and I had really good views of the Marsh Harrier only 20 minutes later from the Mere car park, but the wing tags were not readable even through the scope and in sunlight. They are a pretty lurid green, though: I am ambivalent about this on such a beautiful bird.

The Garganey pair were at the West side of the Mere, but then flew to the North side and were lost in reeds. The Ring-necked duck showed well with the Tufties on the Northern irrigation pond.

At Goultrop: 4 Scotor (3M,1F), 1 Red-throated Diver, a Goldcrest and a very vocal Peregrine mobbing a Buzzard.

On the Western Cleddau between Withybush and Wolfscastle: a Dipper and Sparrowhawk.
