Quiet down south

A walk along the coast path from Manorbier to Freshwater East this morning and back along the lanes produced a grand total of 2 Chiffchaffs, 5 Chaffinches and a couple of Wrens. Still it was great to be out on such a bright, sunny day.

Around midday I had a look at Kilpaison and not a hive of activity there either though there were 50 or so Dunlin, 20+ Ringed Plover 1 Redshank and 7 Oystercatchers. A male Wheatear was feeding high up on the beach in company with a few Rock Pipits and a Pied Wagtail. Again it was really nice to feel the sun on my back as I sat at the back of the beach.
