Highlight of yesterday was a yellow wagtail found by our new reserve assistant, Amy. We get a reasonable number of these in late summer but not many in spring. Over a 1000 swallows went north yesterday plus 25 white wagtails feeding in the fields. Today so far there has been a small fall of chiffchaffs around the buildings (5) plus 5 white wagtails.
