Whilst doing a circuit of a very damp and drizzly Airfield this morning ( wishing I was on Lesbos ) a party of 5 Ringed Plovers landed on the runway just ahead, improving the situation no end. Further along there were 8 White Wagtails feeding on dung heaps left by the cattle. It looks like grass growth on the Airfield is going to be very be late this year and won't be 'Skylark friendly' for some time.
