Warblers back in the Minwear/Canaston area
This morning's BBS produced good numbers of usual residents, including at least 4 pairs of marsh tits (two actively nest-building), there were very good numbers of blackcaps plus a few wood warblers and garden warblers back in usual areas. Two pairs of grey wagtails were disputing nest-sites near Blackpool Mill and a single male redstart sang briefly nearby. Further along the Eastern Cleddau both sedge and reed warblers were in full song. It wasn't too surprising to see a brood of mallard ducklings but I wasn't expecting to see recently fledged blackbirds here before the end of April, especially after the cold spell but there they were!
