Dale & Marloes area

9 Wheatear at St. Ann's Head, just 1 on Dale Airfield, but 4 at the Gann was more promising where waders provided the main interest - 23 Dunlin, 8 Ringed Plover, 19 Whimbrel & 2 Redshank.  A single female Teal still present, and the Great Northern Diver (a first summer presumably) still lingered offshore.  Up to Marloes Mere and the Glossy Ibis still present from the barbed wire gate (as was Derek, as it happens).  A male Peregrine buzzed over but didn't catch anything that we could see, the Wheatear count here went into double figures and the several Sedge Warblers singing their hearts out provided a lovely backdrop.  A stop at the entrance to Winterton Farm between Marloes and Mullock was rewarded by a smart, bright, male Yellow Wagtail by the irrigation pond.
