A nice walk around the mere this evening produced 2 views of the Glossy Ibis, both from the barbed wire topped gate beyond the Youth Hostel. Plenty of hirundines around, mainly Swallows but a few House and Sand Martins thrown in for good measure, and a lonely Swift. Otherwise little sign of passage, but perhaps the predicted change in wind direction will freshen things up. The logbook recorded a possible female Scaup at 8.30 this morning.....no sign of it this evening. Interesting.
