Shearwater spectacular

After two nights of (very) full moons, Manx Shearwaters may have been getting increasingly keen to get ashore to Skomer and Skokholm. So little surprise at the big flocks that have built up in St Bride's Bay this evening.
Off Wooltack Point at around 7pm we saw groups of a thousand or more, but distant, around the moored tankers. Now (post-9pm) there are tens of thousands passing offshore from Martin' Haven, visible almost as wisps of smoke with the naked eye, but clear massive streams of individuals through binoculars. A fantastic sight.
