Marloes and Gann
Had an evening in N Hide: 6.20pm A pair of shelduck out from N Hide. At 7.15 they eventually flew up and headed westward, when they reached midway across the mere a male shelduck got up and pursued the other male before dropping back into cover. Couple of whimbrel flying over. Flock of c10 dunlin did a little fly around and dropped into cover in centre of mere. A single dunlin all evening just west of barbed-wire gate - interestingly a few people stopped at the gate or walked by but it just sat tight, the only time it moved was when a moorhen got a bit too close and it raised its wings. 6.50pm Poss Green Sandpiper did a couple of distant fly arounds before dropping into the juncus on eastbank - frustratingly out of earshot. 7.25pm 11 Black-tailed godwits flew in and again dropped into cover. 7.35pm The Glossy ibis flew length of mere and dropped in somewhere near its favourite spot (but out of sight from N Hide). Other birds: 3 Swifts, Goldfinch, Pied wag and Reedbunting.
Gann: 8pm 9 Black-tailed godwit on beach, 2 dunlin and Little Egret.
