Lots of adult birds were carrying food in Pengelli forest today. A reassuring sight after the wash out of last Spring.
This Marsh Tit had a nest in a very small entranced hole at the base of a tree by a stream.
This pair of Redstarts were constantly bringing back food to their nest hole.
2 boxes of Pied Flycatchers have hatched, less boxes used than last year though. A box in Ffynone wood has been successful for the first time with these Pied Flycatcher pulli recently hatched.
These nests are being monitored as part of the BTO's Nest Record Scheme adhering to the code of conduct for nest recorders.
