It's a bit early in the year but, with reports of Wilson's Petrels and Sooty Shearwaters from elsewhere in the UK we thought we would give it a try.
But, despite a superabundance of fish carcasses, and a tub of pilchard oil-based attractant, we had to work hard for 1, possibly 2 Storm Petrels to the West of Grassholm, and a handful of Manxies that came right up to the boat.
Maybe too early in the season? Or the wrong tide? Only one way to find out..........
On the way back towards St Anne's Head we came close to 5 Common Scotor (3m, 2f), flying NORTH!
